Kevin Corbett

Kevin, c’88, a Norman, Okla., native joined the Association in 2004 from the KU Endowment Association, where he served as its senior vice president for development and secretary to the board of trustees. His wife, Jill, c’88, is a native of Omaha.


Heather Hawkins

Heather received her bachelor’s degree in strategic communication from KU in 2006 and received her master’s in educational leadership and management in 2012. Heather helps with projects for the Alumni Association’s Board of Directors, arranges correspondence with donors and helps Kevin whenever needed! When she’s not working, her husband Jeff, son Mavrick, daughter Sienna and their three boxers keep her on her toes!


Adams Alumni Center

Tim Brandt, b’74, helps keep the Adams Alumni Center running smoothly. He comes to the Association by way of Wichita with wife, Debra. When he’s not welcoming the more than 25,000 alumni that visit the center each year, he is continuing to add to his watch collection or toiling in his yard.


Hospitality Services


Laurie Doud

Event Coordinator

Laurie, c’98, coordinates a wide variety of business and social events that take place in the center. A Wisconsin native, she earned a biology degree from KU as a non-traditional student. She occasionally brings in “Show ‘n’ Tell” (live or otherwise) from the natural world to share with her co-workers. If Laurie is not working or volunteering, you’ll find her outside somewhere.


Bryan Greve

Senior Vice President for Hospitality Services

Bryan has been with the Association since 1986. He can usually be found poking around in his herb garden or turning brats on the Weber.

Laura Stephens

Assistant Director for Hospitality Services

Laura joined the Association in 2013 after working for a local catering company in the sales and marketing department. As the Assistant Director for Hospitality Services, she coordinates staff and helps to plan and oversee events in the building. When not at work, she enjoys training and showing horses and keeping up with her busy family including her son Cooper.

Michael W. Davis

Senior Vice President for Alumni, Student and Membership Programs

Mike receive his bachelor’s degree in education in 1984. After working at the Association for a few years, he went back to class to complete a master’s in higher education administration in 1991. He found he couldn’t stay away, rejoining the Association staff in 2005. Mike and his wife Karyn, b’86, a Lawrence native, have four children: Kyle, Megan, Katie and Hannah. A Coloradoan at heart, Mike is an avid mountain biker, skier, runner and ice hockey player. He also enjoys spending time with his family and reading, and is a huge fan of Jayhawk athletics!


Brad Eland

Assistant Director of Kansas Programs

Brad, b’09, g’11, oversees alumni chapters in Kansas. Brad works with hundreds of volunteers across the state to help strengthen KU in their local communities. A Hoxie native and fourth-generation Jayhawk, Brad previously worked for Kansas Athletics in the marketing department and also spent time in Chicago working as a management consultant. Joining the Association allowed Brad to connect with other alumni and friends who share his passion for the University. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, reading, staying fit with a game of hoops, playing as much golf as possible, and rooting on the Jayhawks.

Emily Ellison

Coordinator of Alumni Programs

Emily, c’12, graduated from KU with a degree in Applied Behavioral Science with a focus in Community Health and Development. She showed her Rock Chalk pride while on the spirit squad by playing the role of Baby Jay. Following graduation, Emily moved back to Oregon, the land of Ducks and Beavers, and desperately missed her Jayhawks. After clicking her heels three times she came back and joined the Alumni Association in 2013 as the Coordinator of Alumni Programs. In her free time, Emily enjoys spending her time with family and friends, cheering on her Jayhawks and going on spontaneous road trips.


Nikki Epley

Director of Reunions and Affinity Programs

Nikki joined the Association in 2008 with an impressive resume of sports experience. She was on host committees for Super Bowls XXXIX and XLI before moving to Indianapolis to work for the Division I men’s basketball championship. A native of Valley Center, Nikki played softball at Wichita State University, while working on her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She now oversees reunion and affinity programs at the Association. She devotes much of her spare time to Levi, a 7-pound miniature dachshund with a big personality and is working towards a black belt in mixed martial arts.


Teri Harris

Director of Membership

A western Kansas native, Teri joined the Association in 2011 after spending 20 years in association management in the golf industry, where she focused on marketing, member/donor relations, corporate sales and fundraising. She received her bachelor’s degree in marketing from Emporia State University and has lived in Lawrence since 1987. Teri has one son, Kendall, who graduated from KU with a degree in sport management. She enjoys entertaining family and friends, watching KU sports and working out at the local gym.

Kelsey Hill

Coordinator of Alumni Programs

Kelsey, c’12, a native of Hoxie, Kansas, joined the Association in 2012. As a coordinator of alumni programs, she helps oversee the national chapters & programs. Kelsey is an avid Jayhawk fan and in her spare time attends as many events as possible. When she is not cheering on her Jayhawks, she enjoys reading, running and cooking.


Jacey Krehbiel

Coordinator of Alumni Programs

Jacey, d’12, received her degree in sport management from KU. As a coordinator of alumni programs, she primarily oversees the Association’s affinity chapters, but also assists with memberships and event auctions. Originally from McPherson, Jacey was raised crimson and blue. As a student at KU, she never missed a men’s basketball or football game. When she’s not cheering on her beloved Jayhawks, she enjoys reading, cooking, shopping and spending time with friends and family.


Danny Lewis

Director of Alumni Programs

Danny joined the Association after graduating from KU in 2004 with a degree in sports management. Originally from Surprise, AZ (by way of St. Louis, MO & Defiance, OH) and attended KU on a football scholarship. Danny ended his playing career by competing in the 2003 Tangerine Bowl. He oversees our national chapters & programs, international network & athletic events. Danny and his wife, Laura, live in Eudora with their son, Carter. Any spare time is spent chasing Carter around, planning their next adventure or in search of good food & drink.


Lynn Loveland

Assistant Director of Kansas Programs-Wichita

Lynn, ’76, serves the Association part time as the link to the Wichita Chapter. Before assuming her duties at the Association, Lynn worked for the KU Hospital in Kansas City, and the School of Medicine and KU Endowment in Wichita, where she helped create the Jayhawk Roundup. Lynn works alongside local alumni volunteers to plan programming, fundraising and recruitment events, including the annual Roundup. Lynn and her husband, Mike, have two children and love participating in KU activities.


Michelle Lang

Michelle, b’01, heads up one of the Association’s oldest traditions, the Kansas Honors Program. Born and raised a KU fan, she enjoys traveling throughout the state and nationally to share her love of the University and connect with students and alumni. When she’s not spending time with her Jayhawk family, she is hanging out with her own family and friends.


Joy Maxwell

Director of Legacy Relations

Joy, c’03, j’03, directs legacy recruitment efforts for the KU Alumni Association. Joy works to identify and recruit Jayhawk hopefuls from KU families, promote the Jayhawk Generations Scholarship and engage alumni in pursuing top-notch students to Mount Oread. When she’s not cheering on her beloved ‘Hawks, she loves to travel and spend time with her two favorite boys–husband Kevin, e’05, and their son, Luke (future KU alumnus).


Heath Peterson

Heath, d’04, g’09, a Hugoton native, began his career with the Association in 2005. He works with a talented staff to develop a variety of alumni programs. In his spare time, you can find Heath spending time with his wife, Carrie, c’04, DDS (also a Jayhawk); their son, Beau; daughter, Presley; and their ferocious toy poodle, Bruiser. He prides himself on being a fairly accomplished practical joker.


Megan Toth

Coordinator of Alumni Programs

Megan, d’11, received her degree in Sport Management from the University of Kansas. She oversees the Flying Jayhawks travel program and Future Jayhawks memberships. Megan was raised a devoted Jayhawk fan and was a Rock Chalk Dancer while she was a student at KU. Megan and her husband Peter welcomed their first son, Noah, in July of 2012. She spends her free time teaching dance and spending time with family.


Caitlin Wise

Caitlin joined the Association in 2012 after graduating from KU in 2011 with a degree in business management. She now oversees the Student Alumni Association, advises the Student Alumni Leadership Board and the Homecoming Steering Committee, and plans events and programs that help connect KU students and alumni. Born and raised in Mulvane, Caitlin is a first-generation Jayhawk. In her spare time, Caitlin loves attending concerts and athletic events, spending time with friends and family, and serving as an adviser for Delta Gamma sorority at KU.


Betsy Winetroub

Assistant Director of Kansas City Programs

Shortly after receiving her bachelor’s degree from KU in 2005, Betsy joined the Alumni Association’s membership team. She now returns for her dream job of working for KU in Kansas City as the assistant director of Kansas City programs. Betsy will lead the Kansas City Chapter and connect local Jayhawks through events such as the KU Kickoff at Corinth Square and the Rock Chalk Ball. In her free time, Betsy loves to read, run, cuddle with her beautiful yellow lab, Huckleberry, and of course, cheer on her Jayhawks!.

Jennifer Jackson Sanner

Jennifer, j’81, joined the Association staff in 1984 as staff writer and stumbled into a career. She and her husband, Bob, b’80, have three children: Rachel, a proud KU business school graduate; Jack, a KU junior majoring in business; and Claire, a future Jayhawk who now rules the household along with the dog, Bubba. Away from the Hill, Jennifer assists children in foster care.


Lydia Benda

Communications Coordinator

Lydia joined the Association in 2011 after graduating from the journalism school at KU and marrying her best friend, John. A native of Lawrence, Lydia appreciates the arts her town has to offer. She loves to attend local concerts and to take part in arts and crafts. When she is not at work, she can usually be found walking somewhere pretty or watching Alfred Hitchcock movies with John.


Steven Hill

Steve graduated from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington and holds a master’s degree from Columbia University. He has written for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Chicago Tribune, Field & Stream and other publications. He enjoys cycling and hunting (not at the same time) and spending time with his wife, Mary, and their three young children, including a brand new baby girl.


Debbi Johanning

Digital Media Content Manager

Debbi, c’98, joined the Association in April 2010 and helps manage social media, website content and broadcast emails. She and her husband, former KU basketball player David Johanning, f’94, have a son, Cooper, and a rambunctious yellow labrador, Lucy. Debbi, a Wellington native, enjoys reading, live music and spending time with friends in her limited spare time.


David Johnston

Director of Internet Services and Marketing

David oversees marketing and Internet services. He joined the Association in 2007 after serving as KU’s first director of marketing. A Lawrence native, Johnston holds two degrees from KU, including a bachelor’s in journalism and a master’s in higher education administration. When the former KU cross country All-American isn’t out running, he usually can be found cheering on the Jayhawks with his wife, Sara, d’96, their two little girls, Sydney and Sophia, and their baby boy, Austin.


Chris Lazzarino

Lazz, j’86, began his journalism career as a newspaper sportswriter in South Florida, and joined Kansas Alumni magazine after returning to his hometown to be close to family. He enjoys reading, photography, travel and long hikes with the world’s greatest dog, Parker.

Jane Mahoney

Jane, j’12, joined the Association just a month after graduating from KU with a degree in journalism (strategic communication). She serves as the Digital Media and Marketing Coordinator, assisting with broadcast emails and Kansas Alumni magazine advertising. Jane, a Prairie Village native, enjoys running, traveling and spending time with her friends and family in her spare time.

Dan Storey

Dan graduated from Colorado State University and joined the Association in 2013 after spending seven years with KU Athletics. He provides quality images, both moving and still, that showcase the Association’s many events. Outside the office, Dan enjoys travel, Jayhawk athletics events and outdoor activities. Dan and his wife Angie, b’04, g’07, have two daughters, Olivia and Eleanor.

Susan Younger

Creative Director

Susan, f’91, is the Creative Director for the Association. She oversees publications including Kansas Alumni magazine. She also assists with branding and décor for special events. Susan has also served as president of UCDA, a national design organization. Both of her sons attended KU, and when she can pull herself away from work, she spends time in her glass studio or with her husband, Jerry, e’86, g’92.

Angie Storey

Angie, b’04, g’07, is the development director assigned by the KU Endowment Association to assist in raising funds for the KU Alumni Association. Angie, a native of the south-central Kansas town of Sawyer, most recently worked at KU Athletics. She loves to travel, attend sporting events and do almost anything outdoors. She and her husband, Dan, have two daughters, Olivia and Eleanor.

Heather Heideman

Heather recently joined the Association as the front-desk receptionist and also lends a hand to the finance department. When she’s not greeting guests with her friendly smile, Heather enjoys a good movie, traveling and spending time with her daughter, Avery. Both are enthusiastic basketball fans.


Jodi Nachtigal

Jodi, a Nebraska native, joined the Association in July 2008. She assists with the monthly financial statement preparation, annual budget, yearly audit, as well as helping with many of the Association’s events. Jodi’s spare time centers around her family, daughters, Madeline and Macy, and husband, Brad. Jodi also loves to run, shop, read, travel, and spend time with friends.


Karen Whipple

Originally from Erie, Karen, c’92, has been an accountant at the Association for several years and before that spent 22 years employed at KU. Her husband, Don, is an architect who retired in 2007 from KU with 35 years of service. Karen is an Extension Master Gardener in her spare time.


Marcia Wilson

Marcia has been an indispensable part of the Association’s team since 1997, working as an office assistant, mailroom attendant and inventory control specialist. Marcia and her husband, Steve, have two daughters and three wonderful grandchildren. They love traveling, especially to Cabo and Colorado, and are avid KU basketball fans.

Bill Green

Bill joined the staff in 1994, working jointly for the KU Alumni and Endowment Associations. He has two offices and two bosses, but fortunately a single database of alumni shared by the two Associations and great support staff in both organizations. Bill has two daughters, Jen and Linda c’10.


Shana Beck

Shana joined the Association in January 2010 after moving from Jackson, Michigan. She received a music degree in ’99 from Jackson Community College. She is married to Jerry and in her spare time loves to crochet and scrapbook.


Leah Kohlman

Leah received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies coupled with a Minor in African American Studies from KU in 2011. She joined the Association’s records department in May of 2012. In her spare time she enjoys attending her little brother Justin’s sporting events. She also enjoys spending time with family, baking and attending KU baseball games.


Julie Lowrance

Julie joined the Association staff in 2003. Away from work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Garry, and their pets. She also loves going on walks, attending car shows and cheering on the KU basketball team.

Linda, d’85, has worked for the Association’s records department since 1996. In her spare time, she loves to exercise and travel. Her favorite destination includes the Cape Cod area.


Helen Meseraull

Helen, d’66, taught junior high math for nine years before working in her husband’s printing business and eventually joining the Association’s records department. She and her husband, Steve, have three grown children and five grandchildren. In her spare time, Helen enjoys working in her vegetable garden and helping Steve with his model railroad activities.


Stefanie Shackelford

Stefanie joined the Association’s records department in 1989. Her time away from work is spent with her husband and three sons attending numerous sporting events. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with friends, working out at the local gym and reading a good book.
