The Ultimate Guide to KU Basketball

The season ended abruptly for the men's basketball team after a tough 67-62 loss to Michigan State in the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16. Though the loss was disappointing for the team, the 'Hawks still have much to celebrate after a season of exceeding expectations. Cole Aldrich was named to the NCAA Tournament All-Midwest Regional team, and Sherron Collins to the Associated Press All-American Third Team.

 

The KU women's basketball team fell to the South Florida Bulls, 75-71, in the championship game of the WNIT April 4. With a record crowd of 16,113 watching from the stands of Allen Field House, the Jayhawks finished their season 22-14—the women's best finish since the 1998-'99 season. Danielle McCray and Sade Morris represent KU on the WNIT All-Tournament team. Junior McCray finished the season by setting a slew of career and tourney records, including the WNIT single-tournament scoring record with 147 points, helped by her nearly 30-point average over the Jayhawks' five-game WNIT run.
