Mortar Board Alumni
Mortar Board was established in 1918 as a national honor society for senior women, and KU founded its chapter the same year to recognize achievements in scholarship, leadership and service on Mount Oread. In 1975, Mortar Board membership was opened to male students. Elected members represent the top scholars and leaders on campus.
Each year, alumni members of Mortar Board gather for special events and to honor class members celebrating their 50-year class reunion, held by the KU Alumni Association.
