Networking Events

Students have numerous opportunities throughout the school year to meet and connect with KU alumni, seek career advice and build relationships. Online networking events with alumni are also open to SAA members. For more information or to register for an upcoming event, visit

KU Alumni Mentor Network

One Jayhawk connection can change your world! Get helpful advice from alumni mentors in your field of study. The KU Alumni Mentor Network directory includes alumni who have volunteered to serve as mentors to members of the Student Alumni Association as well as KU Alumni Association members.

You’ll need your alumni ID (found on the membership card included in all SAA emails) to log in to the KU Alumni Mentor Network. Once you’ve logged in, you can search the directory for a mentor.

Etiquette Dinner

The KU Alumni Association has a close working relationship with the University Career Center and co-sponsors the Etiquette Dinner, which allows students of all majors and levels to network with alumni and employers while learning professional and dining etiquette during a guided full-course meal. Students are assigned seats based on career interest and/or major and business attire is required.

Internship Fair

Another program presented in partnership with the University Career Center, the Internship Fair offers students the opportunity to find internships during school breaks, over the summer or after graduation.

Student Alumni Network members receive 10 percent off all KAPLAN courses. If you have activated your free SAN membership, email to get your discount code.

LinkedIn offers a powerful new tool to find alumni. The valuable Alumni Tool allows users to find out where alumni live and work and what they do. The KU Alumni Association also manages the largest LinkedIn group for KU Alumni, and students are welcome to join this group to network with alumni.

Online Alumni Database

Student Alumni Association members can search the KU alumni directory for someone who works in a field or industry of interest. Follow these steps to get started:

Step 1: Register for free at  with a username and password. You’ll need your alumni ID number (not your KU ID number), which you can request here if you do not have it handy. Your alumni ID number is a 10-digit number and is listed on the membership card on all SAA emails.

Step: 2:  Log in  and search the online directory. SAA members can conduct a  basic search  by name and location, or an  advanced search  by school and major.

Contact can be as simple as a telephone call or email and may lead to a meeting or shadow visit. Mentors are not expected to be able to offer employment opportunities. This is a chance for you to connect with the powerful Jayhawk network via the KU Alumni Association’s online directory.
