Welcome Picnics
Every summer, chapters of the KU Alumni Association welcome the next generation of Jayhawks to the University. Incoming students and parents from the area are invited to attend a reception in their honor. Food and drinks are combined with plenty of KU company. Alumni share their stories of the Hill, current students lend advice, and University representatives also attend to answer any questions about life on the Hill. These events are free of charge and open to prospective students who are considering KU. Check our calendar to find a picnic in your area.

Each year the Kansas Alumni magazine recognizes KU legacy families whose attendance at the University includes two or more generations. To be included, your student needs to:
Be a freshman in the fall 2008
Have at least one parent who is an Association member
Have at least one parent who attended KU (that parent need not have graduated)
Submit information detailing KU family members to the Association by June 30, 2008
