Home on the Hill | KU Homecoming 2018 | Sept. 23-29 | Homecoming Schedule

For the third consecutive year, Miles Schnaer’s Crown Toyota, Volkswagen of Lawrence will sponsor the University of Kansas’ Homecoming celebration. The annual event, which begins Saturday, Sept. 22, with the theme, “Home on the Hill,” is organized by the KU Alumni Association and features a weeklong series of student and alumni activities, including competitions, reunions, tailgates and the Homecoming Parade. The celebration culminates with a KU football game against Oklahoma State Saturday, Sept. 29, in David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. Kansas Athletics and first-time sponsor Hy-Vee join Crown Toyota, Volkswagen in supporting this year’s event.

The dealership also will return as a sponsor of the Alumni Association’s postseason basketball activities in 2019. Earlier this year, Crown teamed up with the Association during the 2018 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament and loaned its Crown Jayhawk Car, a KU-themed Toyota RAV4, to Association staff who traveled in March and April to Wichita, Omaha, Nebraska, and San Antonio to support the Jayhawks as they advanced to the Final Four.

The event, which allows community members and their children to trick-or-treat in a safe and fun environment, is hosted by the Student Alumni Network, the Student Involvement and Leadership Center, and the Center for Community Outreach.

“We are excited to have Crown return for the third year as a sponsor of Homecoming and postseason basketball,” said Heath Peterson, KU Alumni Association president. “This longstanding partnership has allowed us to unite Jayhawks near and far for two of the University’s most time-honored traditions, and we’re grateful for Crown’s continuous support.”

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the KU Alumni Association for the third year in a row,” said Miles Schnaer, owner of Crown. “KU Homecoming presents a great opportunity to help students, alumni and the Lawrence community connect, and our involvement in postseason basketball activities is a tremendous way to engage the powerful Jayhawk nation.”
