KU’s Homecoming Parade was held on Friday, Sept. 26, in downtown Lawrence. More than 50 floats and other entries depicting this year’s theme, “Roll With the ‘Hawks” rolled down Massachusetts Street, beginning at 13th and ending at 7th Street.
Curtis Marsh, j’92, and John Holt, j’81, l’84, served as emcees of the parade, and Rob Riggle, c’93, was this year’s grand marshal.
A pep rally immediately followed the parade at 8th and Massachusetts. A large crowd of students, alumni, fans and friends listed to speakers including Riggle, assistant football coaches John Reagan and Clint Bowen, and men’s basketball coach Bill Self. Performances by the Marching Jayhawks and Spirit Squad capped off the rally.
