ASU professor recognized for advancing gender equality in Phoenix theater | Arizona State University

The Bridge Initiative named Lance Gharavi, g’97, PhD’00, its 2018 Ally of the Year for his contributions toward gender parity in the theatrical field. Gharavi is the artistic director of theater for the School of Film, Dance and Theatre at Arizona State University’s Herberger Institute.

Former Topekan associate director of new Broadway musical ‘Escape to Margaritaville’ | Topeka Capital-Journal

Amy Corcoran, a Topeka native, was the associate director for the Broadway debut of the new musical, “Escape to Margaritaville.” Corcoran earned an undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Kansas. This spring, she will direct an off-Broadway musical written by fellow KU alumnus Bill Russell.

One year later: 5K heart attack survivor crosses finish line with med students that saved his life | Q13 Fox

Last year, David Houchin suffered a heart attack during the Big 12 5K race in Kansas City. Three KU medical students saved his life when they stopped running and administered CPR. This year, Houchin and the students—Sebastian Schoneich, Kelly Lembke, and Dakota Bunch— walked the race together.
