Happy birthday, Pepper!

Former KU football coach Pepper Rodgers recently celebrated his 85th birthday at his old stomping grounds: Memorial Stadium.

A group of former football players and coaches reunited in Lawrence for the occasion. Kansas All-American David Jaynes organized a football reunion at the Adams Alumni Center to coincide with Rodgers’ birthday. Former KU assistant coaches Terry Donahue and Sandy Buda were also on hand to celebrate the popular KU coach known to most simply as Pepper.

Rodgers coached at KU from 1967-1970 and won the Big 8 title in 1968. He left after the 1970 season to coach UCLA.
