The KU men’s basketball team won their opening game in the Phillips 66 Big 12   Men’s Basketball Championship today, beating Texas Tech 91-63.

The Jayhawks will meet Iowa State in the semifinals tomorrow night at 6:30 p.m.– the third meeting this season between the two teams and one that’s highly anticipated by fans.

Look for our table receive a free members-only gift when you show your membership card. We’ll also have free Jayhawk stickers and coasters, crimson and blue spirit beads available for purchase and information about upcoming alumni events in Kansas City.

The spirit squad, mascots and pep band will take the stage at 4:30 p.m. for a pep rally.

Thursday’s fun

The Power & Light District was full of crimson and blue on Thursday. Fans were decked out in KU gear of all types, including creative, DIY-style efforts. The two Jayhawks above were spotted going head to head at Z-Strike.

Baby Jay stopped by Z-Strike for pictures with fans, including Kevin Berry, associate director and chief operating officer of the West Virginia University Alumni Association.
