Truity Credit Union, which first partnered with the KU Alumni Association in 2017, has entered into a multi-year commitment with the Alumni Association and the Student Alumni Network to serve as the exclusive financial services partner of Home Football Fridays, TGIT receptions for faculty and staff, and the KU Vets Day 5K, Sunday, Nov. 10, at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.
The next Home Football Friday lunch for students will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 30 on the front lawn of the Adams Alumni Center, 1266 Oread Ave. on the Lawrence campus. The events, hosted by the Student Alumni Network, occur on Fridays in conjunction with home games throughout the season and feature free food, beverages and cookies from eight area restaurants in the Student Alumni Network’s Restaurant Partner Program. Truity Credit Union’s generous support will fund prizes and giveaways during these events, as well as the annual Student Alumni Network T-shirt, which is provided to students at no charge.
The Alumni Association will welcome KU faculty and staff to the Alumni Center for TGIT receptions from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 19, Oct. 10 and Nov. 21 during the fall semester and Feb. 20, March 19 and April 9 during the spring 2020 semester. The receptions will include drink specials, snacks and giveaways.

For the second consecutive year, Truity Credit Union will sponsor the KU Alumni Association’s Home Football Fridays for University of Kansas students as well as six TGIT receptions for faculty and staff on Thursdays during the fall and spring semesters.

The University of Kansas Alumni Association’s Student Alumni Network has launched a Restaurant Partner Program, teaming with popular area restaurants to offer students a variety of food selections for upcoming network events. The restaurants featured in the program will be the exclusive provider in each cuisine category. They are Bigg’s BBQ (barbecue), Hot Box Cookies (dessert), Jefferson’s Restaurant (burgers and wings), McAlister’s Deli (sandwiches), Papa Keno’s Pizzeria (pizza) and The Salty Iguana (Mexican). Students also will be able to win gift cards and receive discounts, special offers and giveaways from each of the restaurant partners at Student Alumni Network events and through the network’s social media channels.
The new restaurant partner program is one of many benefits offered to KU students in the Student Alumni Network, the largest student organization on campus. Other benefits include alumni networking events and career services, free food at student events, discounts at the KU Bookstore and other local and national businesses, a free mobile app, and other exclusive gifts. Membership in the Student Alumni Network is free for all KU undergraduate and graduate students, thanks to funding provided by the Alumni Association and KU Endowment.
“We are immensely grateful to these outstanding Lawrence restaurants for their support,” said Heath Peterson, Association president. “Through these partnerships, we can provide students with more programs, benefits and opportunities throughout the school year, not to mention delicious food.”
The Adams Alumni Center lawn was full of students Friday as the popular Home Football Friday event returned.
Home Football Friday is hosted by the Student Alumni Association and is held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on the Friday before every home football game. The event is open to all KU students and features a free lunch, music, and giveaways.
A surprised guest made an appearance at the first event of the season: David Beaty, head football coach, stopped by to visit with students.
